In 2009 I started a project called "THE 7 MAGNIFICENTS". The ideea is very simple. I choose a place where not even the gods can reach, I draw a map of a really amazing trip, I take my backpack, I put my ass in my 22 years old BMW and I run away from home for a few months. This is my refill with adrenaline and endorphins. The 7 Magnificents are some amazing peaks: Mont Blanc (4810), Elbrus (5642m), McKinley (6194m), Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8516m), Everest (8848m) and K2 (8611m).
In this moment I'm working at the third phase of "THE SEVEN MAGNIFICENTS" project, that already had two victories: a winter ascent on the highest peak in the Alps, Mont Blanc (4810m) and a winter ascent on the highest peak in Europe, Elbrus (5642m). Now it is time for a new adventure:
THE ASCENT ON THE 3RD MAGNIFICENT: Mc KINLEY (6194m)
THIS WILL BE DONE DURING AN EXPEDITION THROUGH NORTH AMERICA WITH ALASKA AS DESTINATION:
BUCHAREST - New York - Washington - Chicago - Las Vegas - Los Angeles - Hollywood - San Francisco - Arctic Circle - Mount McKinley (6194m) - Montreal - Quebec - Boston - New York - BUCHAREST
On the map you can see:
3RD MAGNIFICENT: Mc Kinley (6194 m) - in progress
Below you can find some impressions from the first and the second phase of "THE 7 MAGNIFICENTS" project, both successfully completed and also some links to the media advertising. The story of the project is presented in reverse chronological order.
THE 2ND MAGNIFICENT: ELBRUS (5642m) - WINTER ASCENT DONE IN 2010
There are moments when the Earth is the most beautiful planet in the universe. In these moments, if an alien from a far away galaxy landed here, he would be hypnotized by the magic and mystery in the air. People stop from running like crazy for survival and from fighting for things that disappear shortly after. Intolerance and aggression are left aside, like the armor and the sword of a samurai returned exhausted from the battlefield.
For a month, adults remember that they were once children and leave themselves caught in the story. It is when Santa gets his clothes from naphthalene and starts traveling the world, probably each year being surprised that this human side of people still exists. Then the passage of years follows and people move from stories to dreams. For each one a new beginning is arising. Winter holidays surround everything in a mysterious magic and, if an alien from another galaxy went home after he had spent Christmas and New Year on Earth he could only say: “I’ve found a dream world, a fairytale world!”
BUCHAREST – Viena – Graz – Salsburg - Innsbruck – Zurich – Strasbourg - Luxembourg – Rotterdam – Amsterdam – Hamburg – Coppenhaga – Oslo – Stockholm – Rovaniemi -ARCTIC CIRCLE – Helsinki - Sankt Petersburg - Moscova – ELBRUS – Odessa – Suceava - BUCHAREST
I wanted to see and feel Europe and Russia in these moments, so I jumped in my old BMW - "The Legend” with three friends and we left. We reached the Arctic Circle in the northern town of Rovaniemi, known as Santa's headquarters and we successfully climbed Mount Elbrus (in winter), the highest peak in Europe and the second of my “7 Magnificent” project. We have covered over 13,000 kilometers in 30 days. I could describe this adventure in several pages but I feel that it would be better to let the photos and videos speak.
I will only say what a hypothetical alien from another galaxy would say: "I’ve traveled in a dream world, a fairytale world”.

THE 1ST MAGNIFICENT: MONT BLANC(4810m) - WINTER ASCENT DONE IN 2009
In the winter of 2009 I went together with two friends on a 6000 km trip across Western Europe, with the objective to climb Mont Blanc. We spent the New Year's Eve in Vienna, we were the first climbers on the Mont Blanc summit in 2009 and, after a stopover in The City of Lights, we returned safely to Bucharest.

We can measure time in years, days, hours or seconds, but we cannot stop it. Cool-headed and rebellious, it flies, regardless of anyone and anything. Sometimes, we live moments that happen once in a lifetime and we want to freeze them and to keep the delight of that unique feeling, but we have no chance. We can just take a picture and time may flow freely, because we stole one second. Therefore, the picture is a miracle. Over tens, perhaps hundreds of years, the rectangle of paper gives us the same dreams, tears and emotions as the moment the camera lens left time to pass through.
So, I'll let some videos and stills play for this runaway impossible to be described in words :
